Dear Sirs:
Subject:
Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)
Units 1, 2, and 3 Docket Nos. STN 50-528, 50-529, and 50-530 License Nos. NPF-41, NPF-51 and NPF-74 Response to Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2015-16, Planned Licensing Action Submittals for All Power Reactor Licensees, Revision 1 Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2015-16, Revision 1, Planned Licensing Action Submittals for All Power Reactor Licensees, dated January 15, 2016, requested licensees to provide information regarding the licensing actions that are planned to be submitted to the NRC staff for review over the next 2 calendar years and power uprate applications planned over the next 5 years. The requested information is strictly voluntary. The NRC staff plans to use the information in allocating its resources for licensing reviews.
Arizona Public Service Company (APS) supports the objective of the RIS in promoting early communication with the NRC staff regarding planned licensing activities. Enclosure 1 of this letter provides estimated licensing actions over the next 2 calendar years for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) Units 1, 2 and 3 and Enclosure 2 of this letter provides estimated power uprate licensing actions over the next 5 calendar years.
APS requests that the contents of Enclosure 2 be withheld from public disclosure, pursuant to 10 CFR 2.390. The NRC has waived the affidavit requirements on its own initiative as documented in the RIS, since the response to the survey contains business-sensitive information, the disclosure of which is likely to cause competitive harm and should, therefore, be classified as proprietary information.
The enclosures reflect the current target dates for the APS submittals. These target dates are subject to change. Also, operational considerations may result in the addition of licensing actions that are not currently itemized in the enclosures.
A copy of this letter and enclosures is being provided to Tracy Orf, Division of Operating Reactor Licensing, Technical Assistant.
Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station 5801 S. Wintersburg Road Tonopah, AZ 85354 contains PROPRIETARY information to be withheld under 10 CFR 2.390 of this document contains SUNSI information. The transmittal document is decontrolled when Enclosure 2 is detatched.
