ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS REVIEW OF THE FERMI 2 LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION

- TRANSMITTAL OF SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT WITH OPEN ITEMS By letter dated April 24, 2014, DTE Electric Company (DTE or the applicant), submitted a license renewal application (LRA) in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants. DTE requested renewal of the Fermi 2 operating license (operating license NPF-43) for a period of 20 years beyond the current expiration at midnight on March 20, 2025.

The license renewal staff and technical branches have completed their review of the applicants LRA and have issued the Safety Evaluation Report with Open Items Related to the License Renewal of Fermi 2 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16027A270). We request that the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) review the staffs Safety Evaluation Report with Open Items for the Fermi 2 LRA. The Fermi 2 LRA is currently scheduled for review by the ACRS Subcommittee on March 2, 2016.

The required copies of the Safety Evaluation with Open Items has been delivered to your staff.
