Follow-up Notification of Non-reportable Condition, per 10 CFR Part 21

References:

1. Letter from Gregory T. Vesey (AREVA) to Document Control Desk (NRC), "Sixty Day Interim Report Notification per 10CFR 21 .21(a)(2)," dated 14 August 2015

2. AREVA TN Corrective Action Report 2015-183 Reference 1 provided the information required for a 60-Day Interim Report Notification per § 21.21(a)(2),

concerning an evaluation being performed by AREVA TN regarding the identification of weld indications on a NUHOMS" 61BTH Type 1 Dry Shielded Canister (DSC) during the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station spent fuel storage loading campaign. AREVA TN had not concluded that this was a reportable condition in accordance with the requirements of 10CFR 21.21(d) and additional time was required for completion of inspections, determination of a root cause, and evaluation of potentially affected systems.

It was expected at that time that the evaluation of this condition would be completed by 13 November 2015.

The purpose of this letter is to inform the Commission that the evaluation is complete and the situation has been determined to be not reportable under 10 CFR Part 21.
