SUBJECT:

NRC INCIDENT RESPONSE WORKSHOP - SEPTEMBER 19-20, 1995

Dear Mr. Hampton:

The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is holding an Incident Response Workshop to provide information about the NRC Incident Response Program. The workshop will also provide Federal, State, and utility incident response personnel an opportunity to discuss issues related to emergency response for events occurring at nuclear reactors and fuel facilities.

The NRC Region II workshop is scheduled for September 19-20, 1995, and will be held in Conference Room 802 (Eighth Floor) of the Richard B. Russell Federal Building, 75 Spring Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30303. The Tuesday morning session will focus on the NRC's incident response capabilities, assessment tools, and assistance to States. The remainder of the workshop will be devoted to specific Response Technical Manual (RTM) training. Region II sponsored a similar workshop last year and hopefully individuals who were not able to attend the 1994 workshop will be able to attend this one. A copy of the proposed workshop agenda, lodging information and directions to the Richard B. Russell Federal Building are enclosed for your information.

Please advise this office of your interest in attending the workshop by contacting Mr. Jim Hufham of my staff at (404) 331-2603 by August 18, 1995, with the names of prospective attendees. Also, contact Mr. Hufham if you have questions or need additional information about the workshop.

We look forward to your participation.

Sincerely, Stewart D. Ebneter Regional Administrator Docket Nos. 50-269, 50-270, 50-287 License Nos. DPR-38, DPR-47, DPR-55
