EMERGENCY PUBLICATION OF FEDERAL REGISTER NOTICE FOR THE OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION
Dear Sir:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is requesting immediate publication of the enclosed "Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendments to Facility Operating Licenses, Proposed No Significant Hazards Consideration Determination, and Opportunity for a Hearing."
Failure to publish this notice as requested would require that the licensee needlessly declare the respective instruments on Unit 2 inoperable and enter the Limiting Condition for Operation and shut down of Oconee Unit 2. The Notice must be published no later than January 23, 1998, in order to provide the 30-day notice period.
