UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 August 25, 2015 Mr. Eric McCartney Site Vice President NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC 6610 Nuclear Road Two Rivers, WI 54241

SUBJECT:

POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 - CORRECTION LETTER FOR AMENDMENT NOS. 253 AND 257 RE: (TAC NOS. MF4379 AND MF4380)

Dear Mr. McCartney:

On July 28, 2015 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession (ADAMS) Accession No. ML15195A201), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment Nos. 253 and 257 to Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-24 and DPR-27 for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant (PNBP) Units 1 and 2, respectively. This amendment consisted of changes to the technical specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated July 3, 2014, as supplemented by letters dated December 8, 2014; March 19, 2015; and May 28, 2015. The amendment revised the TSs by relocating specific surveillances to a licensee-controlled program. The proposed changes are consistent with the NRG-approved Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF) Traveler, TSTF-425, Revision 3, "Relocate Surveillance Frequencies to Licensee Control - RITSTF [Risk-Informed TSTF] Initiative 5b."

Following issuance of the amendment, the NRC staff was informed by the licensee that on page 3.4.5-2 of the TSs, the following sections had incorrect information:

1. Surveillance Requirement (SR) 3.4.5.1, SR 3.4.5.2, and SR 3.4.5.3 - The word "Control" was missing from the description under "FREQUENCY" column. The correct description of the SRs is as shown below:

"In accordance with the Surveillance Frequency Control Program" The NRC staff determined that these errors were entirely administrative in nature, and were inadvertently introduced, and did not affect the associated notice to the public. Thus, according to the NRC's policy established by SECY-96-238 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. 9611250030 (Legacy Library)), these errors can be corrected by a letter. Enclosed, please find the replacement page 3.4.5-2 of the TSs.

These corrections do not change any of the conclusions in the safety evaluation associated with the amendment. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions regarding this matter, I may be reached at 301-415-8371.

Sincerely, Mahesh L. Chawla, Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch 111-1 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-266 and 50-301
