UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 November 16, 2015 Mr. Jon Greendeer, President Ho-Chunk Nation W9814 Airport Road P.O. Box 667 Black River Falls, WI 54615

SUBJECT:

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE FINAL SUPPLEMENTAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR BRAIDWOOD STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2

Dear President Greendeer:

Please find enclosed a copy of the final NUREG-1437, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 55, Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2. The final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) is being issued as part of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) process to decide whether to issue renewed operating licenses to Exelon Generation Company, LLC for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2 (Braidwood). In the final SEIS, the NRC staff determined that the adverse environmental impacts of license renewal for Braidwood are not so great that preserving the option of license renewal for energy planning decision-makers would be unreasonable. In the context of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, NRC staff determined that no historic properties will be affected by the proposed action (license renewal). The final Environmental Impact Statement will accompany the final Safety Evaluation Report to be considered in the Commissions license renewal decision making process.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Russell Chazell, Environmental Scientist, at 301-415-5003 or by e-mail at Russell.Chazell@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/
