Dear Mr. Tucker:

We have reviewedjMr J. Davis' letter to Mr. C. Gaskinj.dated April 19, 1982, and Mr. W."Parker's July 27, 1982 letter to Mr. H. Denton concerning security personnel requal i fication requi rements as set fort inx Part 73, Appendix B. Accordingt;o Appendix B, "Security personnel shall be requalified at least every 12 months to.perform assigned duties for both normal and contingency operations."

Supervisor observation is considered a sufficient requplification test.

The attesting supervisor should be responsible for proper docu mentation and for its veracity.

Furthermore, for each crucial task the record should contain the date of successful performance, the signature of the observing individual (security supervisor or his/her designated representative) and the initials ofthe examinee.

This, should be done at least every twelve months.

We hope we have assisted you in. this matter.

Sincerely gaRG
