01 1 8 197E APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Duke Power Company License Nos.:
DPR-38 DPR-47 DPR-55 Based on the results of the NRC inspection conducted on September 11-15, 1978, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below. These items have been categorized as described in our correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
10 CFR 20.203(c) states, in part, that high radiation areas shall be "maintained locked except during periods when access to the area is required, with positive control over each individual entry."
Contrary to the above, the door to Room 378A (South Stairway - Unit 3) was found to be unlocked on September 12, 1978.
The door was posted with a high radiation area sign. Highest radiation levels in area indicated on sign was 2000 mr/hr. Positive control over access was not in effect.
This is an infraction.
