SUBJECT:

ACCEPTANCE FOR REVIEW REGARDING TRAVELER TSTF-541, REVISION 0, ADD EXCEPTIONS TO SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS WHEN THE SAFETY FUNCTION IS BEING PERFORMED (TAC NOS. MF2723 AND MF2724)

Dear Members of the Technical Specifications Task Force:

By letter dated September 10, 2013 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML13253A390), you submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for review and approval Traveler TSTF-541, Revision 0, Add Exceptions to Surveillance Requirements When the Safety Function is Being Performed.

Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that Travelers are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours were billed accordingly.

The NRC staff has completed a preliminary review of your submission and determined it is sufficiently complete and appropriate to initiate a more comprehensive review. Due to the complexity of the Traveler, the NRC staff determined they will likely need to issue a second request for additional information. The review of Traveler TSTF-541 will generally follow the schedule below.

MILESTONE SCHEDULE DATE Issue Request for Additional Information August 21, 2015 Issue Second Request for Additional Information November 30, 2015 Issue Notice for Comment in the Federal Register June 30, 2016 Issue Notice of Availability in the Federal Register September 30, 2016 If you have any questions, please contact me at (301) 415-1774 or via e-mail to Michelle.Honcharik@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/
