By letter dated March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status.

Enclosure 2 of Reference 1 requested that each licensee perform a reevaluation of external flooding sources and report the results in accordance with the NRC's prioritization plan. The due date established for McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2, was March 12, 2014.

Reference 2 provided the required Duke Energy Flooding Hazard Reevaluation Report (FHRR) for McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2.

By Reference 3 the NRC Requested Additional Information (RAIs) regarding the McGuire Nuclear Station Flood Hazard Reevaluation Report. Reference 4 provided the Duke Energy responses to the NRC's RAIs.

The NRC submitted Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) regarding the McGuire Nuclear Station Flood Hazard Reevaluation Report by e-mail dated April 9, 2015 (Reference 5). The NRC requested Duke provide a response within 60 days. The Enclosure to this letter provides the Duke Energy response to the NRC RAI for McGuire Nuclear Station. MNS has determined the Enclosure contains MNS Security Sensitive information. Therefore, MNS requests the information be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d).

This letter contains no new Regulatory Commitments and no revision to existing Regulatory Commitments.
