SUMMARY

OF THE JUNE 11, 2015, PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE REGARDING DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION On June11, 2015, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public open house to discuss the 2014 annual assessment results for Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station at Carroll Township Service Complex in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The purpose of the open house was to provide an opportunity for the public to discuss NRC activities, nuclear power issues and Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station performance for the period of January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014. The NRC meeting notice for this open house can be found in Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML15141A380.

Enclosed are attendee lists for the meeting. The handout available at the meeting is also available in ADAMS as ML15156A696.

The NRC provided discussions related to the NRCs assessment of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station performance, which was documented in the March 4, 2015 End-of-Cycle Assessment Letter (reference ADAMS Accession Number ML15062A569). As part of this open house, both NRC and FirstEnergy personnel were available to address questions and concerns; members of the public were given the opportunity to ask questions of FirstEnergy officials and NRC officials.

NRC staff members greeted attendees as they arrived and offered a description of the purpose of the meeting and discussion of Davis-Besses 2014 performance as well as NRC inspection activities related to the Davis-Besse Shield Building. Davis-Besse operated safely in 2014, with no significant inspection findings or negative performance indicators. Copies of the NRCs 2014 assessment letter were available. Contact information for the Davis-Besse Resident Inspectors and meeting feedback forms were also provided.

FirstEnergy Nuclear Generation Meeting participants discussed, among other things, Davis-Besse Shield Building laminar cracking issues and NRC responses to the identified issues; status of plant license renewal; and the overall performance of the plant.
