Accession Number ML14286A094), NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra), (the licensee), submitted a request to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for relief from certain requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code),Section XI for the fifth 10-year Inservice Inspection (ISI) Program ending on July 31, 2022 for Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No.

The Component Performance, NDE, and Testing Branch (EPNB) staff has reviewed and evaluated the information provided by the licensee, and has determined that the following information is needed in order to complete its review of the relief request.

1. Please provide the ASME designation for the materials of construction for both the nozzle and the weld metal.
2. If the nozzle and weld material are made of ferritic steel, please describe if the weld was made using the temper bead technique or if post-weld heat treatment was applied to the nozzle weld area.
3. Has an analysis for thermal fatigue ben performed for the weld? If so, please provide the expected cumulative usage factor for the weld projected through the end of the components expected service life.
