Nuclear Regulatory Commission Environmental Assessment for Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant Ultimate Heat Sink Temperature Hello Ms. Becker, I work for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and I am the NRCs project manager for the Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, Units 3 and 4. The licensee for this plant is Florida Power & Light Company (FPL).
The NRC is preparing an environmental assessment related to a license amendment request we received from FPL on its ultimate heat sink (cooling canals) temperature limit. FPL requested that we expedite our review of its request to prevent the units from having to shut down. We would like to schedule a call with you on Monday, July 28, 2014, to discuss the results of our environmental assessment and to see if you have any concerns or questions.
