NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-269/95-25, 50-270/95-25, AND
50-287/95-25
Dear Mr. Hampton:
This refers to the inspection by H. Whitener of this office on December 4-8
and 11-15, 1995.
The inspection included a review of activities authorized
for your Oconee facility. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings
were discussed with those members of your staff identified-in the report.
Based on the results of this inspection, we have determined that the
implementation of your MOV program has met the intent of Generic Letter 89-10,
"Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillance," and is
acceptable for NRC closure. However, two Inspector Followup Items, 1)
Response to Vectra Report - Butterfly Valves and 2) "Anchor/Darling Double
Disc Gate Flow Cutoff, will require further NRC review. In addition, the
commitments stated in your March 31, 1995, letter to the NRC remain to be
completed. The commitments and other followup items that remain are discussed
in the enclosed report. We will continue to inspect various elements of your
MOV program as part of our ongoing inspection activities.
Within the scope of the inspection, violations or deviations were not
identified.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of
this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC public document Room.
