Dear Ms. Evans,

In Reference 1, you transmitted to Southern California Edison (SCE) a proposed Director's Decision under 10 CFR 2.206 regarding a petition filed on June 18, 2012 by Friends of the Earth (FOE) related to San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). The proposed Director's Decision concludes that FOE's request is moot in light of the permanent cessation of operation of SONGS. You requested that SCE provide any comments within 30 days on any portions of the decision that involve errors or on any issues in the petition that have not been fully addressed. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that SCE will not be submitting comments, but reserves the right to respond to any comments that may be submitted by FOE.
