UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 February 24, 2015 Mr. C. R. Pierce Regulatory Affairs Director Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc.*

Post Office Box 1295, Bin - 038 Birmingham, At 35201-1295

SUBJECT:

EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT NO. 2 (HNP-2), CORRECTION FOR AMENDMENTS REGARDING REACTOR CORE SAFETY LIMITS

Dear Mr. Pierce:

On October 20, 2014, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 213 to Renewed Facility Operating License NPF-5 changing the reactor steam dome pressure safety limit (SL) in TS Section 2.1.1 "Reactor Core SLs" (Agencywide Documents Access and Management. System (ADAMS) '

Accession No. ML14276A634).

On February 18, 2015, the NRC issued Amendment No. 218 to Renewed Facility Operating License NPF-5 for HNP-2 changing the minimum critical power ratio (MCPR) SL in TS Section 2.1.1 (ADAMS Accession No. ML15020A434). The SLs in TS Section 2.1.1, TS page 2.0-1, include limits on both reactor steam dome .pressure and on minimum critical power ratio (MCPR).

With the issuance of Amendment 213 on the steam dome pressure limit, the version of TS page 2.0-1 previously submitted for the MCPR change became obsolete. TS page 2 . 0-1 was not then updated by the licensee to support the ongoing MCPR application review. This contributed to the inadvertent issuance of TS page 2.0-1 for the MCPR Amendment 218 that did not reflect the earlier change that NRC approved for the steam dome pressure SL.

C.R. Pierce Please find enclosed a corrected TS page 2.0-1 that includes the changes made to it by Amendments 213 and 218 for HNP-2. These two TS changes are independent of each other; accordingly the NRC safety reviews and Federal Register notices for each amendment are independent of those developed for the other amendment. There is no change to the regulatory basis for the issuance of the two amendments. This correction is an administrative change to produce an integrated version of TS page 2.0-1 that includes the separate changes to the steam dome pressure SL and to the MCPR SL on page 2.0-1.

Sincerely, a~~Robert Martin, Senior Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch 11-1 Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket No. 50-366
