KEWAUNEE POWER STATION LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST 256 NOTIFICATION OF COMMUNICATIONS CAPABILITY IMPLEMENTATION As discussed between Mr. W. C. Huffman (Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)) and Mr. Jack Gadzala (Dominion Energy Kewaunee, Inc. (DEK)) on January 13, 2015, DEK has implemented the mobile alarm notification device described in Reference 1.
In Reference 1, DEK stated that the plant process computer system (PPCS) was being modified to include a mobile alarm capability that will send alarm pages to a mobile electronic device carried by the on-duty shift manager and plant operator. Once implemented, this mobile alarm capability would allow operators to become alerted to control room alarms regardless of whether they are in the control room or elsewhere in the plant. This mobile alarm capability has since been implemented.
