LIN DEC 1 PIM 41: 330 December 1, 2014 Attention: Cindy Bladey Office of Administration Mail Stop: 3WFN-06-A44M R1F7' En U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555-0001 I am writing with grave concern about the decommissioning plan for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station in southern California. Storing the spent fuel rods in casks above ground at the San Onofre site is a clear danger to all residents living with a 50 mile radius. That includes me at 250 La Brea Street in Laguna Beach, California 92651.

The San Onofre plant is site on the Pacific Ocean where is it exposed to a possible tsunami as occurred in Fukushima, Japan. This section of the southern Californian coast is densely populated should there be any radiation leakage whether or not caused by natural disaster or other technical causes. Furthermore, radiation leakage endangers the entire marine ecosystem of the section of the California coast.

In sum, as an affected citizen, I insist that indefinite storage of spent fuel poses a serious public and environment hazard, which the NRC has not addressed.
