ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE, UNIT 1 -WITHDRAWAL OF LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST REGARDING REACTOR COOLANT SYSTEM PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE AND THE LOW TEMPERATURE OVERPRESSURE PROTECTION SYSTEM LIMITS (TAC NO. MF4713)
Dear Sir or Madam:
By letter dated August 27, 2014 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML14241A319), Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy, the licensee), applied for an amendment to the Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO), Unit 1, Technical Specifications (TS), which are incorporated as Appendix A to Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-51. The proposed change would have revised TS 3.4.3 (Reactor Coolant System (RCS) Pressure and Temperature (PIT) Limits); TS 3.4.9 (Pressurizer); TS 3.4.1 0 (Pressurizer Safety Valves); and TS 3.4.11 (Low Temperature Overpressure Protection (L TOP)
System). The current limits are applicable to 31 Effective Full Power Years (EFPYs). The proposed limits were applicable to the end of the current period of extended operation (54 EFPYs). Subsequently, by letter dated October 9, 2014 (ADAMS Accession No. ML14282A217, you withdrew the amendment request.
This is to inform you that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has ceased work activities on Task Assignment Control (TAC) No. MF4713, which is associated with the amendment request. The NRC staff notes that withdrawal of this license amendment request does not impact Entergy's request for exemption from certain requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (1 0 CFR), Section 50.61 and Appendix G to 10 CFR Part 50, which is currently being reviewed by the NRC staff under TAC No. MF3700.
This license amendment has not been noticed in the Federal Register; therefore, no Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License will be filed with the Office of the Federal Register.
