OF AUGUST 5, 2014, MEETING WITH TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY REGARDING IMPROVED TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS CONVERSION FOR SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. MF3128 AND MF3129)
On August 5, 2014, a Category 1 public teleconference was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA, the licensee). A list of attendees is provided as Enclosure 1.
The purpose of this public meeting was to discuss the ongoing review of the license amendment requests for Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (SQN), to convert the current technical specifications (CTS) to the improved technical specifications (ITS) format. The focus of the discussion was on the schedule and status of the current sets of Requests for Additional lnformation1 (RAis) and the agenda for the upcoming August 12, 2014, meeting. The key points of this discussion are:
The status and approximate schedule for each of the approximately 50 outstanding RAis were discussed. SQN had within the past 2 days submitted several RAI responses. No technical information was provided in this portion of the teleconference.
The agenda for the August 12, 2014, public meeting on the SQN CTS to ITS was discussed. The SQN staff will be traveling to NRC Headquarters for the meeting.
