RE: Request for CNS License Renewal Commitment Core Bolts Stress Analysis DRAFT SE Review - sensitive, proprietary information (TAC No MF3557)

Annie, this is feedback from the engineering review:

I reviewed the subject draft SE and agree with the NRC that no additional proprietary information is contained therein other than what the NRC has highlighted, underlined, and double bracketed. However, I did identify a couple of errors for consideration by the NRC: 1) Page 7, BWRVIP-145NP-A should be BWRVIP-145-A. This document is proprietary. 2)

Page 7: Reference to Appendix B (no Appendix B in BWRVIP-25) should be BWRVIP-25, Section 2.1.3.

Mr. Van Der Kamp, Attached is the Cooper License Renewal Commitment Core Plate Bolts Stress Analysis Review Draft SE for your review for sensitive, proprietary information. Im transmitting this to you in accordance with NRCs Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Office Instruction COM-203, Revision 2, which states in part:

As another example, a Draft Safety Evaluation (SE) might be provided to a licensee or applicant to obtain agreement that it contains no proprietary information, in accordance with Office Instruction LIC-204. If these exchanges result in the discovery of new information needed for decision making, then this additional information must be appropriately submitted and preserved.

Please be advised that proprietary information, as currently identified by the NRC staff, is highlighted, underlined, and enclosed in double brackets (for emphasis).

Additionally, the conclusions stated in this draft document are preliminary and are subject to further staff review, until it is finally issued.

If possible, Id appreciate your response by COB Tuesday July 15, 2014. Please call me if you have any questions.

Thank you, Andrea George Project Manager Nuclear Regulatory Commission Division of Operating Reactor Licensing andrea.george@nrc.gov 301-415-1081 1
