CLARIFICATION OF MEASURING AND TEST EQUIPMENT VERSUS PROCESS EQUIPMENT CALIBRATION Re:
H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit 2 Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Units 1 and 2 Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 By letter dated October 3, 1984 you provided clarification of Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) Quality Assurance Program requirements for measuring and test equipment and installed process instrumentation. In addition, you requested NRC concurrence with the CP&L clarification per 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3).
Your letter provided a clarification rather than a change in the Safety Analysis Report as discussed in 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3), however, this clarification is apparently a reduction of commitments and therefore, in accordance with Section 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3), it should be submitted for review to the appropriate regional office.
With respect to the Shearon Harris Plant, which has not received an operating license, the same conditions do not apply. The NRC project manager for the Shearon Harris Plant will be in contact with you on this matter.
