DPR-23 A meeting was held in the NRC Region II Office on January 9, 1985, to discuss the application of 10 CFR 50.48 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix R, Fire Protec tion, in preparation for the special inspection at the Robinson site scheduled for February 4-8, 1985.
The licensee presented copies of the following draft pre-audit information requested by the Region II staff:
- 1. Piping and instrumentation (flow) diagrams for hot standby (shutdown) and cold shutdown systems, and alternative or dedicated shutdown.
- 2. Plant layout and equipment location drawings which identify the physical plant locations of hot standby (shutdown) and cold shutdown equipment.
The same marked-up drawings also identify the cable routing and power and control circuits for those plant systems necessary to achieve and maintain hot standby (shutdown).
- 3. Plant layout drawings which identify fire area delineation and fire protec tion equipment locations.
- 4. Marked-up layout drawings which identify the locations of emergency lighting units.
- 5. Method of associated circuit analysis.
- 6. Plant operating procedures which describe emergency hot and cold shutdown from emergency control stations outside and independent of the control room, and shutdown operations which utilize alternative or dedicated shutdown capability. An outline of plant operating procedures which describes normal hot and cold shutdown from inside the control room.
- 7. Fire damage control and repair procedures for cold shutdown systems.

In addition, the following major items were discussed in detail:
Robinson Appendix R analysis methodology, Appendix R modifications and their completion schedule; the Robinson shutdown logic for fire and the plant's alternative/
dedicated shutdown system; Appendix R exemptions for Robinson; and required cold shutdown repair materials.
