SUBJECT:

ROBINSON PLANT (DOCKET NO. 50-261) INADEQUATE AND

SUBSTANDARD CONTROL AND SECTIONAL VALVES FOR FIRE

PROTECTION WATER SYSTEM (AITS F02500075)

Enclosed is a copy of the licensee's response to the Notice of Deviation

in IE Report No. 50-261/79-29.

The arrangement of the control and sectional

control valves as discussed in the Notice of Deviation does not meet. the

applicable sections of the National Fire Protection Association Standards

and Code which are referenced in the licensee's Fire Protection Program

Review.

It is requested that guidance be obtained from NRR as to the specific

requirements for this installation. Sufficient data should be provided

to permic this item to be inspectable.
