APPROVAL OF PROPOSED CHANGE TO QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR H. B. ROBINSON, UNIT 2 (TAC NO. MA3749)
Dear Mr. Young:
By letter dated September 30, 1998, Carolina Power & light company submitted a proposed change to the Quality Assurance Program Description for the H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2. The change was submitted as a reduction in commitment under the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(a)(3).
The proposed change revises the qualification requirements for individuals performing and managing the independent safety review function. The staff has reviewed the proposed change, as documented by the enclosed Safety Evaluation, and finds the reduction in commitment will continue to satisfy the criteria of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 and is, therefore, acceptable.
