SUBJECT:
FINAL INTEGRATED PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT REPORT FOR H. B. ROBINSON
STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT (NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-261/96-07)
Dear Mr. Hinnant:
This letter, and the enclosed report, provide the results of the Integrated
Performance Assessment of the H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit 2.
Phase I of this assessment was a review of docketed.material performed in the
Region II Office between May 6 and May 17, 1996. The results of Phase I were
provided to you in Inspection Report 50-261/96-06 dated May 17, 1996.
Phase II of the assessment was conducted on-site between June 3 and June 14,
1996. Throughout the assessment the team did not identify any inoperable
safety system or equipment. The enclosed report provides an integrated
assessment and inspection recommendations based on the docket review and
information from the on-site inspection.
Overall, the team found performance in the areas of operations, maintenance,
and engineering to be good. Performance in the plant support and safety
assessment areas were excellent. The area of security was found to be
adequate with increased inspection recommended. A summary of our recommended
inspection efforts associated with each of these areas is provided in the
Performance Assessment/Inspection Planning Tree which is appended to the
inspection report.
No written response to this letter is required.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
Sincerely, Original signed by:
