EVALUATION OF THE LICENSEE'S RESPONSE TO DENIALS IDENTIFIED IN THE SAFETY EVALUATION FOR THE PUMP AND VALVE INSERVICE TESTING PROGRAM AND ASSOCIATED RELIEF REQUESTS FOR THE H. B. ROBINSON STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NO. 2 (TAC NO. M85808)
By letter dated December 28, 1992, the Carolina Power & Light Company (the licensee) responded to the NRC letter dated September 16, 1992, concerning the H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2, third ten-year pump and valve inservice testing (IST) program and requests for relief. The licensee's response addressed actions taken for the denied relief requests (GPRR-4, GPRR-6, GVRR-3, IVSW-VRR-1, and SI-VRR-1) and commented on the documentation of a June 17, 1992, conference call.
The enclosed Safety Evaluation provides the results of the NRC review of the revised relief requests and associated information contained in the licensee's submittal dated December 28, 1992, and their subsequent clarification dated September 20, 1993.
