Danny and Don, By letter dated NRC letter March 12, 2012 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML12073A348), Request for Information Pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.54(f) Regarding Recommendations 2.1, 2.3, and 9.3, of the Near-Term Task Force Review of Insights from the Fukushima Dai-Ichi Accident, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff requested information regarding flooding at the River Bend Station, Unit 1 (RBS). By letter dated March 12, 2014, Entergy provided the Flood Hazard Revaluation Report Bend Station for the RBS regarding Recommendation 2.1 Flood Hazard Reevaluation. To support the NRCs review of the RBS flood hazard reevaluation report, the licensee is requested to provide electronic versions of the following input and output files:
- a. FLO-2D model used for the LIP analysis
- b. Digital terrain model (DTM) input into FLO-2D
- c. HEC-HMS for surface flow modeling and the Probable Maximum Flood, including calibration simulations
- d. HEC-RAS used for the Probable Maximum Flood and river elevations, including calibration simulations
- e. CEDAS-ACES used for wind wave effects and wave run-up modeling This request was discussed with Mr. Donald Bentley of your staff on May 30, 2014, and it was agreed that a response would be provided within 30 days from the issuance of this email. If circumstances result in the need to revise the requested response date, please contact me at (301) 415-1445 or via e-mail at Alan.Wang@nrc.gov. In addition, the NRC staff will have additional questions regarding this review.
