Attachment L-14-156 Response to Request for Additional Information Page 1 of 5 By letter dated March 11, 2014, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) requested an extension for the completion and submission of the flood hazard reevaluation report (HRR) based on the schedule to receive input information from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). By electronic mail sent on March 26,2014, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff requested additional information to complete its review of the extension request. The response to this request for additional information (RAl) is provided below. The NRC request is provided in bold type, followed by the FENOC response.

RAI 1

The NRC staff requests that FENOC provide a more detailed breakdown of the activities and analyses that remain to be conducted, as well as the associated schedule for those activities and analyses. The NRC staff suggests that a Gantt chart or similar format would be an effective means of communicating the schedule information.

Response

A more detailed breakdown of the activities and analyses that remain to be conducted is provided in the following schedules. The first schedule provides the activities to be completed after receipt of USACE dam information. The second schedule provides the remaining activities to complete the flood HRR, excluding the USACE dam information. The schedules indicate target dates and task durations, which may warrant adjustment as activities progress.
