U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ATTN: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555-0001 Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 NRC Docket Nos. 50-390 and 50-391

Subject:

WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT (WBN) UNITS 1 AND 2 - UPDATED INSERVICE TEST (IST) PROGRAM (UNIT 1) AND IST/PRESERVICE TEST (PST) PROGRAM (UNIT 2) - WITHDRAWAL

Reference:

TVA letter to NRC, Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Units 1 and 2 -

Updated Inservice Test (IST) Program (Unit 1) and IST/Preservice Test (PST) Program (Unit 2) dated December 12, 2013 The purpose of this letter is to withdraw the information provided in the above reference.

On December 12, 2013, TVA submitted program document Technical Instruction (TI),

0-TI-100-006, Inservice Testing Program, for the Watts Bar Nuclear (WBN) Units 1 and 2. The referenced letter also submitted an exemption request and a number of relief requests for both Units 1 and Unit 2.

However, after discussion with the staff, TVA is withdrawing this submittal and will submit the TI and the associated relief requests needed for the initial Unit 2 test interval on the Unit 2 docket. At a later date, TVA will submit the TI and associated relief requests needed for the third Unit 1 test interval on the Unit 1 docket. The reason for this action is to facilitate NRC review because Watts Bar Unit 1 is an operating plant with an operating license and Unit 2 is a construction plant without an operating license.
