Dear Mr. Kuntz:

Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) is re-evaluating flooding hazards at its nuclear power plant sites for the purpose of responding to the March 2012 request for information (RFI)

(Reference 1.). As part of this effort, Entergy initially contacted several districts of the United States (U.S.) Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). These conversations revealed that obtaining the information directly from the Corps is not possible due to its sensitive nature. By way of Reference 2, Entergy requested the assistance of the NRC in obtaining this information.

Subsequent development of the flood hazard analysis for River Bend Station has determined that there is no credible scenario in which the failure of any dam on the Mississippi River or its tributaries will have adverse effects on the site. This letter is being provided to withdraw the request for assistance.
