SUSQUEHANNA STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2-DRAFT STAFF ASSESSMENT OF THE SEISMIC WALKDOWN REPORT SUPPORTING IMPLEMENTATION OF NEAR-TERM TASK FORCE RECOMMENDATION 2.3 RELATED TO THE FUKUSHIMA DAI-ICHI NUCLEAR POWER PLANT ACCIDENT (TAC NOS. MF0183 AND MF0184}

Dear Mr. Rausch:

By letter dated November 26, 2012, as supplemented by letters dated July 26, 2013, and November 27, 2013, PPL Susquehanna, LLC (PPL) submitted its Seismic Walkdown Report for the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff for review. Enclosed for PPL review and comment is a copy of the NRC's draft staff assessments (SAs) for the Walkdown Reports.

Pursuant to Section 2.390 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), we have determined that the enclosed draft SAs do not contain security-related information. However, we will delay placing the draft SAs in the public document room for a period of 10 working days from the date of this letter to provide you with the opportunity to comment on any security-related aspects. If you believe that any information in the enclosures are security-related, please identify such information line-by-line and define the basis pursuant to the criteria of 10 CFR 2.390. After 10 working days, if no security-related information has been determined, the draft SAs will be made publicly available, and an additional 10 working days are provided to you to comment on any factual errors or clarity concerns contained in the draft SAs. The final SAs will be issued after making any necessary changes and will be made publicly available.

The NRC staffs disposition of your comments on the draft SAs will be discussed in the final SAs.

To facilitate the NRC staffs review of your comments, please provide a marked-up copy of the SAs showing proposed changes and provide a summary table of the proposed changes.

Document transmitted herewith contains sensitive unclassified information. When separated from the enclosures, this document is decontrolled.
