FW: FNP U2 SSPS Here is what I received from the R-II BC. It's not 100% clear from the e-mail below, but I believe that the 24H action statement started at 0919 CT on Friday, so that has expired and they are in the process of maneuvering the plant to Mode 3. On the phone, Frank indicated that there is a further requirement to move the plant to Mode 5 and that the licensee may pursue a NOED with regard to that requirement. Nothing formal from the licensee just yet, I just wanted to get the information in your hands for now.

I'm going through their TS now to understand the applicable LCOs. I'll let you know as I hear more. Thanks.

FW: FNP U2 SSPS FYI. Not sure how the SR detector (N-32) energized, but it will likely need to be replaced.

FNP U2 SSPS While troubleshooting Farley 2B SSPS the main control board light indications for the reactor protection system illuminated, the light indications for the bypass and permissives illuminated, and the first out annunciators actuated. The crew verified that that all plant parameters are normal and no RPS setpoint was exceeded. In addition it was determined that source range NIS N-32 had re-energized.

N-32 has been de-energized. Extent of damage to the detector, if any, will be determined during the next shutdown.

Walkdown of the system identified that both 15v power supplies in SSPS had tripped.

Based on the indications from the testing, the site, Westinghouse, and Plant Vogtle have identified 4 cards to replace.

A work order has been planned to remove the 4 cards, re-energize the power supplies, and replace the 3 cards.

The OCC, the warehouse, and operations have been adequately staffed for tonight and tomorrow.

Site Reg Affairs and OPS have reviewed Tech Specs to ensure all applicable LCOs have been addressed. All short term LCO actions have been completed. The most limiting action right now is a 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
to restore and then 6 hours6.944444e-5 days
0.00167 hours
9.920635e-6 weeks
2.283e-6 months
to mode 3. The 24 hour2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
clock started at 0919 CT this morning.

A reactivity management plan has been generated in the event the shutdown is required.

The forced outage schedule is being reviewed.

EP and OPS have reviewed reportability and determined that currently there are NO reportable issues.

The 15 volt power supplies have been restored and the 4 cards have been replaced. SSPS testing is currently in progress to validate repairs have been successful.
