Page 2 LR-N13-0172 On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a request for information (Reference 1) to PSEG Nuclear LLC (PSEG), including a request to perform seismic walkdowns using NRC-endorsed methodology. By letter dated November 26, 2012 (Reference 2), PSEG responded to the information request for Salem Generating Station (SGS) Units 1 and 2, utilizing the NRC-endorsed walkdown guidance in EPRI Technical Report 1025286 (Reference 3). Reference 2 includes a commitment for PSEG to submit an updated seismic walkdown report for SGS Unit 1 due to inaccessibility of areas and components at the time of the original walkdowns.

Based on Reference 4, the committed submittal date for the updated report is December 31, 2013. Enclosure 1 provides the updated SGS Unit 1 seismic walkdown report and completes the regulatory commitment contained in Reference 2. The SGS Unit 2 seismic walkdown scope was completed during the original walkdowns.

Therefore, Reference 2 did not include any deferred walkdowns or regulatory commitments for SGS Unit 2.

Table 6-1 of Enclosure 1 provides a summary of potentially adverse seismic conditions that were identified during the walkdowns and entered into PSEG's Corrective Action Program (CAP). These CAP items have been either been corrected, determined to be acceptable as-is, or identified for condition-based monitoring until corrective actions are completed as part of Service Water Intake Structure material condition improvements.

Attachments 3 and 6 to Enclosure 1 are considered sensitive, unclassified (non-safeguard) information in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, "Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding." As such, PSEG requests that the information contained in these attachments be withheld from public disclosure.

There are no regulatory commitments contained in this letter. If you have any questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Emily Bauer at 856-339-1023.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.
