DAILY HIGHLIGHT San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station On May 8, 1991, the California Public Utilities Commission rejected the merger of Southern California Edison Company and San Diego Gas and Electric Company by a vote of 5-0. It is unknown at present what position the utilities will take in regard to this action, though they are evaluating their alternatives.
The utilities may appeal the decision to the California Public Utilities Commission or the California Supreme Court.
These utilities are co-licensees for the three San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station units. They have requested amendments from the NRC to reflect the merger of the co-licensees.
