Docket No. 50-206 LICENSEE:
Southern California Edison Company FACILITY:
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit No. 1
SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF FEBRUARY 27, 1985 MEETING REGARDING SEISMIC CRITERIA AND METHODOLOGY On February 27, 1985 a meeting was held in Bethesda, Maryland between representatives of Southern California Edison Company (SCE) and members of the NRC staff. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the licensee's proposed criteria and methodology to be used in the San Onofre Unit No. 1 long term service seismic analysis program. Enclosure 1 is a list of attendees.
The licensee's overall schedule is shown in enclosure 2. SCE stated that they would like to have the staff's approval of the criteria and methodology during March.
SCE plans to submit its proposal on the docket by March 8, 1985.
The staff indicated that they foresee problems in being able to complete the review on this short schedule. In addition, the staff cautioned that pursuing new methodology could result in longer review time. The staff indicated that they would try to respond to SCE in about a week from when the submittal is received and that the response will indicate milestones for the NRC review.
