IE Bulletin No. 80-19 Failures of Mercury-Wetted Matrix Relays in Reactor Protective Systems of Operating Nuclear Power Plants Designed by Combustion Engineering Reference is made to your correspondence of July 31, 1980, forwarding the subject IE Bulletin. Identified therein were potential deficiencies of mercury-wetted matrix relays used in the logic matrix of the reactor protective system (RPS) of certain nuclear power plants.

Mercury-wetted matrix relays are not used in the reactor protective system of San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1.
