During our 1980'loIservfie Inspection program dye penetrant tesing: was perfeymed. on eac reactor coolant pump: flywheel bore ond!

keyways.

This examination-revealed line&r 1hdications on the bore of the K and B pump, flywheel.. One ihdIcation on flywheel A i approxi eately 1'1/2 thch long and runs vertical: t th plane of the fl heel.

The indications in-B are of a similar nature to thoe in A. The other iodiaetions are dcumferential at the mid' plane of the flywheel.

We have investigated the extent of the, idications in A flywheel and found that the vertical 6dication origthated In o-weldthe slog hol.

This hole was loeated near the mid plane of the flywheel and was found to be 1 inch deep. The cfumferenfabl-indications were also removed and found to be approximaely. 1/2 inch deep The-infonnation contaihed herei is preliminary.in naturep.

A.more dtailed description with on LER will be issued as soon as investi ations in-progress are completed (approximately.twto.weeks)4.
