May 9, 1985 letter from K. P. Baskin, SCE, to H. R. Denton, NRC The referenced letter provided Proposed Change No. 149 (submitted by Amendment Application No. 130) which requests to revise Technical Specification 3.6.2, "Containment Isolation Valves" and associated Table 3.6.2-1, "Power Operated or Automatic Containment Isolation Valve Summary."
As part of the requested revisions, two containment isolation valves currently listed in Table 3.6.2 were to be removed.
These valves, CV-948 and 949, provide containment isolation for the Pressurizer Relief Tank Gas Sample penetration. However, this penetration was removed from service by installation of a pipe cap inside containment to provide containment integrity, and a second cap outside of containment. Therefore, CV-948 and 949 no longer provide a containment isolation function and were to be removed from Table 3.6.2-1.
Subsequent to submittal of Proposed Change No. 149, it has been determined that the Pressurizer Relief Tank Gas Sample penetration should be returned to service. The work necessary to return this line to service will be conducted during the upcoming refueling outage. It is therefore our desire to withdraw our request as part of Proposed Change No. 149 to remove these valves from Table 3.6.2-1.
A revision to Table 3.6.2-1 is provided as an enclosure.
