Letter from M. 0. Medford, SCE, to NRC Document Control Desk, regarding SONGS 1 PGP Review dated June 8, 1988 The referenced letter provided SCE's responses to NRC comments on the Procedures Generation Package Review for San Onofre Unit 1. The responses indicated SCE's plans to update or consider update of the Emergency Operating Instructions (EOIs) and the EOI Writer's Guide, or provide the justification for not doing so. As indicated in SCE to NRC letter dated January 6, 1989, the status of comments under consideration was to be provided to you by March 31, 1989. The purpose of this letter is to inform you that SCE is continuing to update the EOIs to reflect plant modifications being implemented during this refueling outage, as well as changes to reflect NRC comments on the PGP.
SCE will complete all necessary EOI revisions prior to startup from this refueling outage. The PGP, including the EOI Writer's Guide, will be revised within 30 days after return to service. SCE will provide the NRC with a detailed status addressing how the NRC's comments were dispositioned in the PGP and EOI Writer's Guide. This detailed status will be provided within 60 days after return to service from this refueling outage.
