Letter, M. 0. Medford, SCE, to G. E. Lear, NRC, SEP Topics: 111-2, Wind and Tornado Loadings, III-4.A, Tornado Missiles, October 10, 1986 The referenced letter provided the NRC with the final report of SCE's review of the tornado resistance capability at San Onofre Unit 1. The report was provided to resolve the subject SEP topics for San Onofre Unit 1. Recent discussions with the NRC staff indicated a need for one of the documents referenced by the report. Mr. George November 21, 1986 exposed equipment at San Onofre Unit 1. The TORMIS code is better suited to an application where the equipment is enclosed in a small number of buildings. Therefore the references to the probabilistic evaluation methodology or the TORMIS code in the enclosed report should be disregarded.
