Enclosure PROGRESS ON SELECTED REGULATORY PROJECTS SAN ONOFRE UNIT 1 EDITION 13 Introduction The following is the thirteenth edition of the progress* on selected regulatory projects at San Onofre Unit 1. Also included for information is a tally of all reactor trips during the last twelve months.
Third Train of Auxiliary Feedwater There has been no change in the status of this item.
TDI Diesel Generators By letter dated Ocober 31, 1986, SCE transmitted a status report describing SCE's actions regarding each individual 10 CFR Part 21 notification from TDI issued between August 1, 1985 and August 30, 1986. This report updates an earlier report on this subject, dated August 14, 1985.
Details concerning any corrective measures for crankshaft torsional stresses will be provided by December 31, 1986.
Control Room Habitability A submittal with SCE's long term upgrade plans and all of the NUREG-0737, Item III.D.3.4 required information has been made to the NRC by letter dated October 10, 1986. The information in this package will form the basis for resolution of this issue.
Supplement 1 to NUREG-0737 There has been no change in the status of this item.
Progress represents the submittal of information to the NRC, completion of a modification with a regulatory due date, meetings or site visits by the NRC staff or their contractors.
Internal actions by SCE or the NRC staff continue on each item but are not reported in this document.
-2 Inadequate Core Cooling On October 2, 1986, SCE met with the NRC to present the reasons for not installing a reactor vessel level monitoring system. The details of the presentation were previously transmitted to the NRC on July 20, 1986.
Reactor Trips Experienced in Last Twelve Months In the last twelve months there have been three reactor trips. They occurred on November 21, 1985, July 17, 1986 and August 5, 1986.
