Docket No. 50-206 Steam Generator Repair Program San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 On February 25, 1981, we met with representatives of the Regulatory staff to review the current status of the Steam Generator Repair Program at San Onofre Unit 1.

In addition, we presented information related to the use of leak limiting sleeves in the repair program.

The information consisted of the design criteria for this type of sleeve, the development and qualification tests to evaluate this type of sleeve and the field tests to confirm the characteristics of this type of sleeve in the steam generator environment.

This letter confirms our understanding that, based on the information presented at the February 25, 1981 meeting, you have no objections to our initia ting production installation of leak limiting sleeves in the steam generators at San Onofre Unit 1. During the February 25, 1981 meeting, we indicated that a report containing the infornation presented at the meeting related to the leak limiting sleeves would be submitted by March.;;

1981; however, several additional days are required to prepare and review the report, and we now expect to submit the report by March 6, 1981.

If our understanding that you do not object to the production installation of leak limiting sleeves is incorrect, please let us know.
