Initial Containment Sphere Structural Integrity Test San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Available information pertaining to the San Onofre Unit 1 initial containment sphere structural integrity test was requested by your letter of October 30, 1979 in conjunction with Systematic Evaluation Program Topic III-7.D.
The enclosed report entitled "Report of Initial Overload Test and Leakage Rate Determination of the Reactor Containment Sphere of San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station" dated May 1965, was obtained from Chicago Bridge and Iron Company and is provided for your use. The report addresses the procedures and results of the pressure test at 53.4 psig which was conducted on the containment sphere and which is described in Section 4.3.8 of the San Onofre Unit 1 Final Safety Analysis.
