Docket No. 50-206 Site Specific Earthquake Program San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 My letter of May 26, 1978 forwarded our report on the subject program. A description of additional studies undertaken by SCE to resolve Regulatory Staff and Regulatory Staff consultant comments on that report was forwarded by my letter of October 18, 1978. Results of what was identi fied as Task 1, "MESH SIZE", were forwarded to the Commission by a letter dated March 9, 1979.
Forwarded as an enclosure to this letter is a document entitled "Simulation of Earthquake Ground Motions for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1, Supplement 1", dated July 1979.
This report describes the results of those studies previously identified as Task 2, "SLIP FUNCTION",
and Task 3, "PARAMETER STUDIES AND MODEL ASSUMPTIONS". In addition, the results of Task 1, "MESH SIZE", which were included in our March 9 letter are repeated in the attached report for completeness.
SCE is prepared to meet with the staff and their consultants at your convenience to discuss the results of these additional studies. We will be contacting your San Onofre Unit 1 project manager in the next few days to schedule the time and place for such a meeting.
