SUBJECT: NRC MEETING REPORT NOS. 50-206/361/362/93-20
This refers to the meeting held with Southern California Edison Company (SCE)
at the Region V office on July 1, 1993.
The purpose of the meeting was to
discuss your staff's assessment of the ongoing Unit 3 steam generator primary
to secondary leak and SCE's plans for Unit 2 steam generator eddy current
inspections. The details of the meeting are described in the enclosed Meeting
Report.
We appreciate the efforts of your staff in providing information related to
activities at San Onofre. In particular, it appears that your staff have
stayed abreast of developments related to steam generator tube problems at
Palo Verde, and they have modified the San Onofre Unit 2 steam generator eddy
current inspection plan as a result of Palo Verde's experience. We encourage
close communications between SCE and the NRC should you observe any steam
generator tube problems in Unit 2.
In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy
of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room'.
Should you have any questions concerning this meeting, we will be glad to
discuss them with you.
