License No. DPR-13 for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1 (SONGS 1).
This amendment application consists of Proposed Change No. (PCN) 264, which requests an extension in the expiration date of the SONGS 1 license.
As specified in Section 2.F of the license, the license expires on March 2, 2004. PCN 264 requests that Section 2.F be amended by extending the expiration date to May 12, 2024. The extension will enable SONGS 1 to be placed in SAFSTOR and all three SONGS units to be decommissioned after SONGS 2 and 3 have completed their licensed life.
The enclosed analysis of PCN 264 demonstrates that the requested extension involves no significant hazards considerations.
