SUBJECT:
SAN ONOFRE UNIT 1 EMERGENCY RESPONSE FACILITIES (ERF)
APPRAISAL, JULY 22-25, 1986 Enclosed are the materials you will need to complete your assignments during the subject ERF Appraisal. These materials consist of the following items:
(1) an assignment sheet, (2) a copy of portions of the Emergency Plan, (3) copies of pertinent implementing procedures, (4) a copy of the ERF Appraisal report for San Onofre Units 2/3, (5) copies of exercise/routine inspection reports, and (6) other documents that may be of value to you. It is my understanding that you have been provided with a current copy of the ERF Appraisal Inspection Procedure (No. 82212).
If any additional material, pertinent to your assignment, is obtained prior to the week of the appraisal, copies will be sent to you or furnished at the beginning of the appraisal.
In addition to the materials listed above, I have included copies of the licensee's site access training handouts. Since you will be required to pass a challenge exam, without the benefit of any site specific classroom training, you may wish to review this material.
Room reservations have been made for you at the Ramada Inn, 35 Cal de Industrius, San Clemente, CA 92672 (Ave Pico exit from 1-5).
The reservations are for four (4) nights, July 21-24, 1986.
If you wish to change these reservations, please telephone the Ramada Inn directly at (714) 498-8800. The reservations have been confirmed.
We are scheduled to begin site access training at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning (July 22).
Our entrance meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. that afternoon.
A facilities tour has been arranged for Tuesday afternoon, after the entrance meeting. Since the licensee's Emergency Operations Facility (EOF) was addressed during the Units 2/3 ERF Appraisal, we will only be inspecting the Unit 1 Technical Support Center (TSC) and Operations Support Center (OSC).
The TSC walk-through (facility demonstration) is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.,
Wednesday morning. Due to the limited value of the OSC walk-through to most of the team members and the short work week, an OSC walk-through will not be conducted. The exit interview has been tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
Friday, July 25.
Your flight home should not be scheduled before about 4:00 p.m. I will be holding a team meeting on Monday evening (July 21) at 8:30 p.m.
