Docket No. 50-206 SEP Topic 111-6, Seismic Design Considerations Long Term Seismic Criteria and Methodology San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Over the past few months, several meetings were held between SCE and members of the NRC staff and their consultants to review the proposed criteria and methodology to be used for the Long Term Service Seismic Reevaluation of San Onofre Unit 1. During these meetings, the NRC requested that additional information be provided on several specific subjects. The purpose of this letter is to provide this requested information. In addition, a status report has been prepared, identifying all the action items which have resulted from the NRC staff review of this subject. Also, a report has been prepared providing additional technical basis for the strain criteria which is proposed for the seismic piping analysis.
Accordingly, enclosed are 3 copies of each of the following reports:
- 1. "SONGS-1 Long Term Service Seismic Reevaluation Program Status Report for all Action Items Identified from the NRC Letter dated March 27, 1985," dated May 31, 1985.
- 2. "SAN ONOFRE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION UNIT 1, Long Term Seismic Reevaluation Program, Technical Basis for Piping Strain Limits and Development of Linear, Elastic Analysis Methodology," dated May 31, 1985.
